NOAH’S BACK! RICK
SPRINGFIELD RETURNS AS DR. NOAH DRAKE
ON ABC DAYTIME’S “GENERAL HOSPITAL”
Award winning musician and actor Rick Springfield returns as
“General Hospital’s” Dr. Noah Drake, the role he originated
nearly 25 years ago, it was announced today by Brian Frons,
president, ABC Daytime. His first airdate will be December 2.
“Dr. Noah Drake has always been a fan favorite and we are so
happy that storyline will allow for the character to make an
exciting return to the canvas,” said Mr. Frons in making the
announcement.
Mr. Springfield added: “I guess there was a reason why they
didn’t kill Noah off in the ‘80s. This should be fun. I’m
looking forward to it.”
In the upcoming storyline, Noah returns to Port Charles when Dr.
Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough) urgently needs him for his
medical expertise in helping Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) recover
from his life-threatening seizures.
Recently awarded three Daytime Emmy Awards, including a record
eighth win for Best Daytime Drama, “General Hospital” celebrated
42 years of broadcasting on April 1, 2005, and is the
longest-running dramatic serial on the ABC Television Network.
“General Hospital” consistently rates as one of the top-rated
Daytime programs with Women 18-49.
“General Hospital” was created by Frank and Doris Hursley. Jill
Farren Phelps is the executive producer. Mary O'Leary, Mercer
Barrows and Michelle Henry are producers. “General Hospital”
airs Monday-Friday (3:00-4:00 p.m., ET, 2:00-3:00 p.m., PT) on
the ABC Television Network.
The scheduled airdates are: 12/2, 12/5, 12/6, 12/7
